WHN Early Childhood Kids Director
Purpose of the Job
The purpose of this role is to direct Early Childhood for Kids Ministry at the West Houston Campus. This position will be responsible for providing leadership, oversight, and ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of the overall operations for Nursery to Kindergarten.
Experience and Knowledge Required
- A love and calling toward ministry to children and families
- Experience supervising multiple projects effectively
- Must be a strong communicator with excellent written, verbal, organization, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to learn and use scheduling software
- Extensive experience and high proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite to include Outlook, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
- Experience and high proficiency in Google Suite
- Exceptional time management, organizational, and prioritization skills with a particular emphasis on follow-through and attention to detail
- Ability to think and act independently with a high degree of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality
- Ability to create, analyze, and maintain project budgets
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Partner with Kids Pastor to execute current and future vision and direction of Hope City Kids at West Houston
- Partner with West Houston Leadership for West Houston events
- Identify, recruit, vet, and develop Kids Dream Team
- Invest in Kids Dream Team member’s spiritual maturity, health, and giftings
- Partner with Elementary Kids Director to complete all Kids areas at the West Houston Campus during LILO
- Responsible for making sure each room in Early Childhood is scheduled and covered for the weekend experience
- Connect with Early Childhood Coordinators weekly to communicate upcoming curriculum, events, updates, and ensure each classroom is ready for the weekend
- Distribute weekly curriculum and tools for Early Childhood Coordinators and Dream Team in a timely manner
- Coordinate ministry schedules and class assignments for Early Childhood at West Houston
- Oversee the distribution of curriculum, forms, brochures, handbooks, and wayouts to volunteers and parents in Early Childhood
- Oversee Nursery to Kindergarten during the Weekend services and Hope City church wide events
- Partner with Kids Pastor and West Houston Campus Leadership to develop and coordinate opportunities to invest in parents and their children
- Participate in weekly department and one-on-one meetings
- Work with the appropriate staff to develop and implement all security measures related to the Early Childhood departments, including volunteer screening and class/ building safety
- Follow policies and procedures for Emergency, Urgent, and/or Mandatory Reporting
- Partner with Kids Pastor and West Houston Campus Leadership for responding to pastoral needs and care for children and team members
- Participate in West Houston annual budget preparation to ensure adequate funds for operation of Early Childhood
- Partner with Kids Pastor for accurate curriculum purchases, supplies approval, purchase orders, check requests, receipts, and invoices
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to include weekends, nights, and holidays
- Execute additional duties as assigned
